Words and Music: Sherri Youngward
Mary heard the angel speak
About a boy that wasn’t hers to keep
She held the words within her heart
Knowing suffering would be a part of loving Him
But she wouldn’t trade a minute, for a day without Him in it
The cross was on her way to joy
In the garden of Gethsemane
Jesus fell down to His knees
His sweat became like drops of blood
As He prayed the Father’s will be done and not His own
No one took His life away, it’s the reason that He came
The cross was on His way to joy
The cross is on the way to joy, oh the cross is on the way to joy
The cross is on the way to joy, oh the cross is on the way to joy
The thief that hung upon the cross
Thought he’d lost his chance for innocence
He turned his head to his surprise
The Son of God was by his side, forgiving him
When he opened up his eyes, he awoke in paradise
The cross was on his way to joy
The cross is on the way to joy, oh the cross is on the way to joy
The cross is on the way to joy, oh the cross is on the way to joy
And I wouldn’t trade a minute for a day without Him in it
Recently, at a retreat during worship and prayer, many women stood to their feet calling out to God for their lost children and loved ones. I woke up with that image still in my mind and began wondering about and praying for many faces I haven’t seen in a long time. While reading Luke 15 this morning, I see God is no stranger to the ache of separation. He goes to every length to bridge that distance- His Father’s heart never stops seeking.
Thinking back on all the women who stood to their feet, wiping their eyes and praying, I see it is actually Gods burden that filled their hearts. He is the one with the greatest hope and desire for reconciliation.
Today I took time to pray for people in my life both past and present, as well as the women at the retreat and for y o u. The focus of my prayers changed a bit since the retreat. There, I was moved with compassion over the faces I could see from the stage. Today, I am moved by the understanding that God is the Father of the prodigal, and He is the Shepherd that leaves the 99 for the one… In this pursuit of reconciliation- you are not alone, or parenting alone, you are joining in God’s greatest desire for His sons and daughters- home.
Blessings, Sherri

Here is a video from my recent trip to Russia. We had a wonderful time gathering again with our friends for our annual Women’s Conference near Moscow. After the conference we visited two orphanages - here is a collection of photos from the day I got to go.
As you see the faces of these lovely little souls please pray for them…
RUSSIA 2010 I am leaving January 25 for my annual trip to Moscow, Russia. We will be putting on a Women’s Conference and then some of our U.S. team will visit children in two orphanages. Please pray for us and especially for the Russian women and children that we are wanting to bless. This trip is always such a wonderful blessing and a great exercise of faith. Thank you for your past support and prayers.
