Thinking of you
Recently, at a retreat during worship and prayer, many women stood to their feet calling out to God for their lost children and loved ones. I woke up with that image still in my mind and began wondering about and praying for many faces I haven’t seen in a long time. While reading Luke 15 this morning, I see God is no stranger to the ache of separation. He goes to every length to bridge that distance- His Father’s heart never stops seeking.
Thinking back on all the women who stood to their feet, wiping their eyes and praying, I see it is actually Gods burden that filled their hearts. He is the one with the greatest hope and desire for reconciliation.
Today I took time to pray for people in my life both past and present, as well as the women at the retreat and for y o u. The focus of my prayers changed a bit since the retreat. There, I was moved with compassion over the faces I could see from the stage. Today, I am moved by the understanding that God is the Father of the prodigal, and He is the Shepherd that leaves the 99 for the one… In this pursuit of reconciliation- you are not alone, or parenting alone, you are joining in God’s greatest desire for His sons and daughters- home.
Blessings, Sherri
